Claude Narrator

Hear what a Claude Code session is doing, out loud, while you do something else. Pick a live session, walk away, and get a chime when Claude actually needs you.

What it does

It runs in the background while a session works. The voice is a neural text-to-speech model running on your own machine, so there are no API keys, no account, and nothing leaves the Mac.

You drive it three ways: a native window listing the Claude tabs open right now, a waveform icon in the menu bar for switching session or voice without the window, and the app menu — which can also open a fresh Claude Code session in the project folder.

Install

Clone it and run the setup script. It builds the virtualenv, downloads the voice weights once (~337 MB), and puts Claude Narrator.app in ~/Applications.

cd claude-narrator
